Stephen’s Courage

Chapter Summary

Stephen gives a powerful speech recounting Israel’s history and confronting the people’s resistance to God. The religious leaders become furious and drag him outside the city to stone him. Even while dying, Stephen sees a vision of Jesus and prays forgiveness over his attackers. His death becomes a significant turning point in the spread of the Gospel.

Day 6 — Acts 6

Serving With Wisdom

Chapter Summary

As the church grows rapidly, practical needs begin to create tension among believers. The apostles appoint seven wise and Spirit-filled men to oversee food distribution so ministry can continue effectively. Stephen emerges as a powerful leader known for wisdom, faith, and miracles. The church continues growing because people are willing to serve faithfully in different roles.

Day 5 — Acts 5

Integrity Before God

Chapter Summary

Ananias and Sapphira pretend to give generously while secretly withholding part of their offering, exposing dishonesty within the church. Their actions bring serious consequences and cause deep reverence among believers. Meanwhile, the apostles continue performing miracles and boldly preaching despite growing persecution. Even after imprisonment and threats, they remain committed to obeying God above human authority.

The apostles chose obedience to God even when it brought discomfort and opposition. Genuine faith involves integrity both publicly and privately. God cares deeply about honesty, humility, and wholehearted devotion. This chapter reminds us that obedience is not always easy, but it always matters.

Day 4 — Acts 4

Boldness Under Pressure

Chapter Summary

After healing the lame man, Peter and John are arrested and questioned by religious leaders. Despite threats and opposition, they continue boldly proclaiming Jesus as the risen Savior. The authorities are astonished by their courage and recognize that they have spent time with Jesus. The believers gather to pray, and God fills them afresh with boldness and unity.

The confidence of Peter and John came not from status or education, but from their closeness with Jesus. Time spent with Christ transforms the way we respond to pressure and fear. Day 3 — Acts 3

Healing at the Gate

Chapter Summary

Peter and John encounter a man who had been unable to walk since birth while entering the temple. Instead of giving money, Peter speaks healing in the name of Jesus, and the man is instantly restored. Crowds gather in amazement as the healed man praises God publicly. Peter uses the opportunity to point people toward Jesus as the true source of healing and hope.

Peter recognized that while he could not offer wealth, he could offer something far greater through Jesus. Sometimes we underestimate how God can use our ordinary obedience to impact others deeply.
