As we reach the middle of the year, this 30-day journey through the Book of Acts is an opportunity to pause, refocus, and be spiritually refreshed. Each day includes a chapter summary, reflective devotion, practical challenge, and prayer to help you grow deeper in your faith and daily walk with God. Feel free to read the whole chapter each day or the reflection verses.

Acts reminds us that ordinary people filled with the Holy Spirit can live with courage, purpose, and impact. Whether you are new to reading the Bible or looking to reignite your passion for God, this plan is designed to encourage, strengthen, and inspire you throughout the month.

Day 1 — Acts 1

Waiting With Expectation

Chapter Summary

After His resurrection, Jesus spends time teaching the disciples about the Kingdom of God and preparing them for what is ahead. He tells them to wait in Jerusalem for the promised Holy Spirit instead of rushing into ministry in their own strength. Jesus then ascends into heaven, leaving the disciples filled with awe and expectation. The chapter ends with the believers gathering together in prayer and unity while choosing Matthias to replace Judas.

Reflection Focus — Read Acts 1:7-8

Jesus promised the disciples that the Holy Spirit would empower them to become witnesses to the world. Before they could go outward, they first needed to learn dependence on God. Waiting can feel uncomfortable because we often want immediate direction or visible progress. Yet God frequently uses seasons of waiting to deepen trust, strengthen faith, and prepare us for what comes next.

Today's Challenge

Practice waiting by slowing yourself down and creating space before God, asking where you may be relying on your own strength instead of His.

Prayer

Lord, help me trust Your timing. Fill me with Your Spirit and teach me to walk in Your strength rather than my own. Make me a witness of Your love wherever I go. Amen.
